Candid Tai Tuivasa ahead of UFC Perth: 'My f*cking ass is on the line'
Tai Tuivasa knows his back is against the wall – and it has been for a while. Tuivasa (14-9 MMA, 8-9 UFC) will look to snap a six-fight losing skid when he takes on Louie Sutherland (10-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) on Saturday's UFC Fight Night 275 ( Paramount+ ) main card at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia. Tuivasa returned from an almost two-year long layoff at UFC 325 in February, but fell short against Tallison Teixeira.
He's been granted another opportunity at home as he aims to turn things around. "Definitely, my f*cking ass is on the line," Tuivasa told reporters at a pre-fight news conference ( h/t Cageside Press ). "It's probably been on the line a lot of the time, but I f*cking put asses in the seats, so it is what it is.
I feel good and I'm going to go out there and do what 'Bam Bam' does in 'Bam Bam' style – and not f*cking lose, dickheads. " Tuivasa was originally scheduled to face Sean Sharaf, who was forced out due to injury. He was pretty confident the UFC would find him a replacement in time.
"I'm on a six-fight losing streak – f*cking shouldn't be that hard to get me a fight," Tuivasa said. "Get someone from the pub or something, please. F*cking man needs something.
