Detroit Tigers bring back infielder Zack Short in minor-league deal
Zack Short is returning to the Detroit Tigers organization. Tigers made a minor-league trade Friday to acquire Short, and infielder, from the Washington Nationals for a cash consideration or a player to be named. Short will report to Triple-A Toledo.

He's also played for the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and Houston Astros. Short has played second base, shortstop and third base during his major-league career, while also making a handful of appearances in the outfield. He has appeared in 21 games this season for Rochester, the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate, where he's hit .
