Washington softball facing critical series to end regular season

•Yahoo Sports

In the midst of a six-game losing streak, the Washington Huskies are looking to bounce back on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, with just a three-game series with the Ohio State Buckeyes remaining, the Washington Huskies have lost six consecutive games and nine of their last 13. With postseason play looming, coach Heather Tarr's team needs to get back on track quickly. It will have a great chance to do that on the road against the Buckeyes.

With a sweep, UW would earn a bye in the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed and earn a much-needed rest day following the trip to College Park, Maryland, for the postseason. Last season, the Huskies dropped their first-ever game in the conference tournament to Indiana, and as they look to host an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2023, a run to the final in Maryland could go a long way towards building the momentum necessary for Tarr's young team to return to the Women's College World Series.
