Former Wisconsin star could be first Badger to win Lady Byng Trophy
Cole Caufield is closer than ever to becoming the first Wisconsin Badger to win the NHL's Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. That's not to say the Badgers alumni don't show great sportsmanship, far from it, but they've never had a former player quite like the Montreal Canadians star. Caufield joined the prestigious list of skaters to have a 50-goal season.
In total, he scored a career-high 88-points and registered just 14 penalty minutes. ā Seeing as this award has been around since the 1924-25 season, it's only a matter of time before a former Badgers player finally wins it. The NHL has yet to reveal when the winner will be revealed.
