USC’s Ja’Kobi Lane signs rookie contract with Baltimore Ravens
Another USC draft pick has signed his NFL rookie contract
On Thursday, former USC wide receiver Makai Lemon officially signed his rookie contract with the Philadelphia Eagles . However, he was not the only Trojan rookie to sign that day, as also on Thursday, fellow wideout Ja’Kobi Lane inked his deal with the Baltimore Ravens . According to the Twitter account “Ravens Salary Cap” , the deal is for four years and worth just over $7 million.
It includes a signing bonus of approximately $1. 6 million. After playing a reserve role as a true freshman in 2023, Lane started at wide receiver for past two seasons for the Trojans .
He finished his career in Cardinal and Gold with 99 receptions for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns. Perhaps Lane's two most memorable moments at USC both occurred in Las Vegas. During the 2024 season opener against LSU, his 28-yard touchdown reception gave the Trojans the lead late in the fourth quarter.
Then, in the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M later that year, Lane caught seven passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns, earning game MVP honors. Now, Lane is headed to Baltimore. As a third round pick joining one of the NFL’s better offenses, it will be interesting to see how much playing time he is able to earn as a rookie.
