DE Dre'Mont Jones makes strong statement on Year 1 goal with Patriots
Vetreran edge defender Dre'Mont Jones made it clear what his plans are in his first year with the Patriots.
New England Patriots defensive end Dre'Mont Jones is ready to put his nose to the grindstone in 2026. According to MassLive's Mark Daniels, Jones said at a press conference on Thursday that he is determined to be steadfast in how he approaches the game next season. "I'm here to compete," Jones said.
"I'm here to work my [expletive] off. " Jones has big shoes to fill in New England. The Ohio native is slated to take over for K'Lavon Chaisson, one of the Patriots ' best performers in the playoffs last season, as New England's starting edge rusher in 2026.
Jones also has himself to beat. The seven-year veteran turned in a career year in 2025. His work ethic was reflected in his game as he went for seven sacks on the season.
Jones is now ready to implement a relentless work ethic this offseason in preparation for the 2026 season, with the Patriots carrying expectations to be in the Super Bowl hunt for the second consecutive year.
