Florida football offers former JU basketball player Jaylen Jordon
Jon Sumrall and the Florida football team are looking at a former Jacksonville basketball player as a recruit. The Gators offered him on Wednesday.
Jon Sumrall and the Florida football staff are taking a unique approach to finding talent as the Gators continue to look for players to add to the roster. One of Florida's most recent offers went to a Jacksonville basketball player, Jaylen Jordon. The 6-foot-6-inch, 240-pounder was in Gainesville for Florida's Pro Day in March, taking reps at tight end.
He got feedback from NFL teams and spoke to Florida's staff about switching to football. Despite a quad injury at the Pro Day, Jordon is moving forward with that plan, and Florida is in the mix. He'll decide sometime next week, but a Wednesday visit with the Gators has the Orange and Blue in position to add him to the roster.

"We spent our meeting time learning instead of watching slides," Jordon told Swamp247. "I learned some hand signals to get a glimpse of what our sessions would be like if I was to come there. " Division II powerhouse Incarnate World also offered Jordon and is the only other team in the mix for now.
