Packers potentially in play for massive offseason QB trade

Yahoo Sports

Green Bay could make a move to add a promising young signal-caller to its quarterback room now that Malik Willis has departed.

The Green Bay Packers are pretty happy with their starting quarterback situation. But Jordan Love has proven prone to injuries before, and with Malik Willis headed off to Miami, the franchise seems set on shoring up their quarterback room a bit further. They already made one move by signing Kyron Drones as an undrafted free agent, and they already have another target in mind.

There is still a possibility that Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, could be shipped to a new team by the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. If that comes to fruition, ESPN senior NFL writer Jeremy Fowler reports that there are multiple reasons why the Packers are one of the best fits. "And, keep in mind, should Indy's Anthony Richardson Sr.

be traded, he's looking for an extension of the McVay-Shanahan-LaFleur tree from which to learn," Fowler wrote . "Considering the success Matt LaFleur had with Malik Willis, Richardson will make sense if Green Bay has any interest. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says the Packers may still trade for Anthony Richardson.
