Reports: Neuer wants to extend contract with Bayern until 2027

Rolf Vennenbernd/dpa Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer wants to extend his contract with the club until 2027, the Bild newspaper and broadcaster Sky reported. Neuer's agent Thomas Kroth was at Bayern's headquarters on Thursday for talks over the goalkeeper's future.

According to the reports, Neuer and the club have agreed that he will remain the starting goalkeeper next season, but he will give up more games for Jonas Urbig, who's expected to become his successor. Financial details, however, still need to be clarified. Neuer joined Bayern in 2011 from Schalke.

He has had a stellar career with the club so far, winning the Bundesliga 13 times and two Champions League trophies, among other titles.
