Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer holds talk over new contract Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer could be set for a new contract at the German club. The 40-year-old goalkeeper joined Bayern in the summer of 2011 and is nearing 600 appearances for the club across all competitions. Neuer is still the first-choice goalkeeper under Vincent Kompany, although Jonas Urbig has done a great job as his deputy.
Manuel Neuer set to sign a new contract Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Thomas Kroth, advisor to Neuer was at Säbener Straße to hold discussions over a new contract. Initial negotiations for a new contract for the goalkeeper until 2027 took place, and the German legend has indicated that he wants to continue next season. Neuer is one of Bayern’s highest earners at around €20m, and it remains to be seen how Bayern plan to use him.
Earlier this month Falk reported : “It is TRUE: Manuel Neuer is currently leaning towards signing a contract extension with Bayern Munich. This is what we’ve heard internally inside the club. Everyone is really positive that the 40-year-old will sign a one-year contract extension.
He also spoke after the semi-final with Bayer Leverkusen, mentioning that he doesn’t want to announce anything just yet, but perhaps he has a good feeling for the next season. That means a lot when Neuer says something like this, because he normally keeps quiet on such topics. Now, everybody is hoping that he’ll join Bayern Munich for another season.
