The New York Mets made a notable waiver claim on Thursday afternoon. According to Francys Romero of BeisbolFR , the Mets have acquired infielder Andy Ibanez from the Athletics . Ibanez, 33, was designated for assignment by the Athletics a few days ago after collecting just two hits in 18 trips to the plate.
