Charles Barkley donates $25,000 in support of Children's of Alabama

Charles Barkley has made another charitable contribution, giving $25,000 to Children's of Alabama through Regions Tradition in Birmingham.

AUBURN โ€” An Auburn basketball legend, Charles Barkley 's also known for his charitable contributions, of which he made another this week. Barkley's gifting $25,000 to Children's of Alabama hospitals through the Regions Tradition golf event in Birmingham, which was announced Wednesday, April 29, continuing a lengthy trail of philanthropy for the Hall-of-Famer. "We are incredibly grateful to Charles Barkley for a $25,000 donation to the hospital as the beneficiary of the Regions Tradition," Chief Development Officer Childrenโ€™s of Alabama Chandler Bibb said in a release.

"His continued commitment to the children in our care inspires all of us and we greatly appreciate his generosity. " Barkley's donated seven-figure sums to several academic institutions, including Miles College, Jackson State and Bethune-Cookman each. Late last year, Barkley and fellow TV analyst Shaquille O'Neal donated $100,000 each to a gala put together by Dick Vitale in support of pediatric cancer research.
