Recently on Candace Parker's podcast Post Moves, Green made a notable admission about the end of the Warriors' championship era. According to the Dubs veteran, a part of the dynasty ended when Klay Thompson signed with the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2024. Green was careful with his words, but he clearly linked Thompson’s departure to the end of a significant chapter in Warriors history.
The comment carries extra weight coming from Green, who has been one of the franchise’s most outspoken leaders for more than a decade. The championship run began in 2015, and the team went 73-9 the following regular season. Kevin Durant joined in 2016, and the Warriors won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.
After Durant left, the trio reunited to win the 2022 NBA Finals — the last time all three shared a court as teammates in the postseason. Green opened up about Thompson's departure with rare directness on Post Moves . "A part of this era ended when Klay left," Green said.
