Alex Cora sent the classiest email to the Red Sox organization after his firing
Cora had a nice message for all his former colleagues.
Despite leading the Red Sox to a World Series title in 2018 and the ALCS last season, Alex Cora evidently entered the season on the hot seat as he was fired after a 10-17 start . Cora would've had every reason to feel betrayed after such a shocking decision. But that wasn't what happened at all with the former manager and player.
He went out of his way to pen a nice email to the entire Red Sox organization. And honestly, it's tough to imagine a manager handling a firing any better than Cora did here. MassLive obtained the email on Wednesday, and it was worth a read.
Cora wrote: โGood morning. I wanted to take a moment before heading home to thank you. Being part of this organization has meant a great deal to me.
As a player and as a manager. Like I always tell free agents, Iโm glad my kids grew up here. Itโs unique, special and magical.
