Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images Brett Howden was a member of the New York Rangers for three seasons before being traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in July 2021. He’s become a useful bottom-six center with Vegas, helping the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup in 2023.

The former Ranger added to his list of accomplishments on Wednesday night with a historic goal to give Vegas a 5-4 double-overtime win over the Utah Mammoth in Game 5 of their Western Conference First Round series. The only other player to do so is Howden’s current teammate, Tomas Hertl, who did it in Game 6 of the 2019 First Round against the Golden Knights while he was a member of the San Jose Sharks.
