Prep Roundup 4/29: Greenville softball wins 20th straight game

Greenville softball defeated West Carrollton twice in doubleheader action on Wednesday, April 29, marking 20 consecutive wins for the program. Greenville won the games by scores of 15-0 and 12-0. Ella Oswalt and Lizzie Shaffer each threw five shutout innings to earn the wins.

Oswalt finished the day at the plate with four hits, two home runs and nine RBI to lead the way. The Green Wave improved to 20-1 overall and 14-0 in the Miami Valley League, tied atop the standings with undefeated Troy. Troy and Greenville are set to face off in a major MVL series on Friday, May 1, at Greenville and Monday, May 4, at Troy.

Baseball Centerville 12, Miamisburg 0: Centerville swept Miamisburg in a doubleheader, winning the second game 9-2. Luke Maciejewski and Ashton White combined on the shutout in the first game and Maciejewski went 4-for-4 at the plate in the second. The Elks improved to 15-2 overall and 10-0 in the GWOC.

Fairborn 3, Piqua 0: Dillon Efaw struck out eight in a complete game no-hitter to lead Fairborn. Owen Lauderman tallied two hits and scored two runs and Westyn Williams singled in a run. Troy 7, Stebbins 3: The Trojans picked up a seventh straight win, improving to 15-1 overall and 12-1 in the MVL.

Greenville 14, West Carrollton 4: Jiji Jim, Isaac Kerg and Gibson Steyer each drove in a pair of runs to pace Greenville. Urbana 10, Bellefontaine 5: Grady Lantz homered and drove in five runs, Kevin Endres added a solo shot and Urbana scored six runs in the fifth inning to take control. Oakwood 2, Brookville 0: Oakwood scored runs in the third and sixth innings to come away with the win at Day Air Ballpark.
