Justin Simmons feels "extremely proud and happy" after retiring from the NFL.

Former Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons completed his incredible career by signing a one-day contract and retiring as a Bronco on Wednesday, ten years to the day after he was selected in the third round of 2016 NFL draft. Simmons held a retirement press conference to speak with Denver media members on Wednesday. “I do feel extremely proud and happy," Simmons said of his eight seasons in orange and blue.

" Although Simmons never saw the type of success the team is seeing now, he was always a stable force throughout the uncertainty, and through the mounting losses. "From a fan perspective, I did my best with what we were going through, and it was a lot," Simmons said. "There was a lot of head coach turnover.

It’s weird too, because there was an ownership thing that was happening and you have to focus on football and winning games. It was hard. I hope that the legacy that was left is that [I was a] guy that really did care and passionately cared.

I wanted to win, and it didn’t work out. I’m so glad that they are winning now, and it’s awesome. ” You can view Simmons' full press conference below.
