Butler basketball keeps building from overseas, adding 7-foot perimeter player from Croatia
First-year coach Ronald Nored continues to build Butler's roster through international prospects with the signing of a 7-foot Croatian forward.
Butler basketball and first-year coach Ronald Nored continue to tap into its international pipeline, signing Croatian forward Marko Maric , per Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress . Maric is an 18-year-old, 7-foot forward who averaged 9. 1 points, 3.
8 rebounds and 1. 5 blocks per game while shooting 37% from 3 for Novi Zagreb of the Croatia Prva Liga, a second division league in Croatia. Maric becomes Butler 's third international signee joining Serbian forward Asim Djulovic and Finnish guard/forward Samu Adler.
Maric and Djulovic are both represented by agent Misko Raznatovic. Maric is Butler 's 14th player, leaving one roster spot open. Maric is a 7-footer, but he is not a center.
Maric is a perimeter player with surprising athleticism, fluidity and shooting ability. Maric runs the floor well, can handle the ball and looks to finish through contact with dunks. Maric definitely needs to add strength, but he gives Butler a stretch four with loads of untapped potential.
