Flanker Bethan Lewis, who captained Wales at Ashton Gate in Williams' absence, will lead the side for the final two rounds against Ireland and Italy. Hannah Dallavalle, who was a late withdrawal from the 62-24 defeat by the Red Roses, looks set to return for the trip Belfast on Saturday, 9 May, along with fellow centre Carys Cox, who pulled out of Wales' loss to France earlier this month following a knock in training.

Back-rower Williams came off in the second half of the 38-7 defeat by the French, adding to head coach Sean Lynn's growing injury concerns. Alex Callender, who was co-captain last year, is out wihth an ankle problem and wing Catherine Richards has also now been ruled out of the rest of the Six Nations with a serious knee injury. Lynn, whose side have also lost also to Scotland in the current campaign, has added two under-21 players to his squad in centre Freya Bell - who made her senior debut as a replacement against England - and full-back Amy Williams.
