Not one, but two Wisconsin Badgers hockey players earned one of the most prestigious honors in college athletics. Women's hockey superstar Caroline Harvey and men's captain Ben Dexheimer were both named Big Ten Medal of Honor recipients . This honor goes beyond just what each athlete does in their respective sport, as it also recognizes their excellence off the field.

The Olympic gold medalist captured yet another National Championship with the Badgers, while Dexheimer helped guide his squad to their first National Championship game since 2010. Dexheimer, who signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Wild , had finished out the 2026 season in Iowa with their AHL affiliate. Wisconsin has arguably the best men's and women's hockey coaching combination in the entire nation.

Mark Johnson and Mike Hastings have established themselves as two of the best in the world, and that's exactly why players like Dexheimer and Harvey are able to reach their full potential.
