Flagler Palm Coast, Spruce Creek fall in Region 1-4A quarterfinals

Deltona flag football is the last Volusia-Flagler team remaining after Spruce Creek and Flagler Palm Coast lost in their respective Region 1-4A quarterfinals on April 29. No. 7 seed Spruce Creek lost a 13-7 nailbiter on the road at No.
2 Seminole. No. 4 Flagler Palm Coast also fell in a close game, as it was defeated by Forest 12-6 in overtime.
It was the second game in a row the Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs after beating them in the District 2-4A final on April 22. The losses ended both teams’ state championship hopes. Flagler Palm Coast closed its season with a 12-6 record, while Spruce Creek finished 10-8.
Deltona, who is 18-0 and the No. 1 seed in Region 2-2A, will represent the Volusia-Flagler area against No. 4 Nature Coast Tech on May 4.
