Former Bengals Joe Bachie, Jay Tufele sign with Lions

The Detroit Lions announced they signed former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Joe Bachie and defensive lineman Jay Tufele. Tufele played in 30 games over three seasons for the Bengals from 2022 to 2024. He played in 12 games in 2025 for the New York Jets.
Bachie played in 47 games over four seasons for Cincinnati from 2021 to 2024. In 2025, he played in five games for the Indianapolis Colts , and 10 games for the Tennessee Titans. Former Bengals defensive tackle DJ Reader, who played for the Lions the past two seasons, reportedly is expected to sign with the New York Giants .
