This is already a historic season, and it is in huge part due to coach Vincent Kompany and the way he has transformed this team.

In a recent FC Bayern presser (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ), Kompany was asked about the common perception abroad that winning the Bundesliga is easy for Bayern. To this he responded, “It’s not easy to win the league. Anyone who watched Freiburg against Stuttgart yesterday can see the quality of the league.

The Premier League has bought up a lot of quality players from here – but if you look at yesterday’s Pokal semi-final: the next generation of top talent is right here in Germany, with Manzambi, Suzuki, El Khannous. They play football. Both teams gave it their all.

” They certainly did, and that is why fixtures in the Bundesliga and in the DFB Pokal are always must-watch television. The exciting style of football and the dynamic, pressing-focused tactical systems make every match thrilling. The Bundesliga has great depth in quality, with the top 10-15 teams capable of enjoying success in any of the top leagues in Europe outside of the Premier League, which is the outlier and is helped in huge part by massive sponsorship and TV deals, private ownership and billionaire investors, and the English-speaking markets.
