The Fishers (IN) boys basketball team has found who will take over for Garrett Winegar , who stepped down as the head coach of the Tigers to join the coaching staff at Iowa United Prep (IA) to coach the freshman/sophomore team in Des Moines. [ $19. 99 gets you a FULL year of On3 | Rivals national coverage ] According to a report by the Indianapolis Star , Fishers has hired 28-year old Miles Wayer , who served as an assistant coach under Winegar for three seasons which the team went 83-3 during that stretch.

Wayer was most recently a head coach at Greenfield-Central, where he guided the team to a respectable 12-12 record. Wayer takes over for Winegar, who led one of the nation’s top high school boys basketball public school programs as the head coach found plenty of success during his time at Fishers. Over the last six seasons as the bench boss of the Tigers, Winegar compiled an impressive record of 132-25, which included winning a IHSAA Class 4A state championship, one state runner-up and being nominated as a Naismith Coach of the Year candidate.
