Beneil Dariush addresses swollen eye ahead of UFC Perth fight week
Beneil Dariush cleared up any concern surrounding his swollen eye going into UFC Fight Night 275. Dariush (23-7-1 MMA, 17-7-1 UFC) takes on Quillan Salkilld (11-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) in Saturday's co-main event ( Paramount+ ) at RAC Arena inย Perth, Western Australia. Heading into fight week, Dariush is sporting a slightly closed up eye.
He confirms that it was a training incident but doesn't expect to impact him during the fight. "Yeah (in training), and it keeps happening," Dariush told Submission Radio . "It happened, I think was Saturday.
I don't know if it was a bumped head or like I got hit in the side of the eye, and I've been kind of stressing out about it, and then last night I'm training, and I get a fingernail right here to the side of it, and it swelled up. So, they're minor things, not a big deal, but it is what it is. It freaking keeps happening.
" Dariush will look to rebound from his quick knockout loss to Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 322 this past November. Prior to that, he defeated Renato Moicano by unanimous decision at UFC 317. Meanwhile, Salkilld is on an 11-fight winning streak, eight of them by stoppage.
