It's a travel, isn't it? But no, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson isn't traveling when he does that step-through move he's mastered. It's just perfect use of his pivot foot.
The key is that, as Brunson lifts that back foot up, he never puts it down again. It's a lot like taking the proper amount of steps on a traditional layup and jumping off of one leg -- as long as you don't land on the ground again, it's not a travel. This is Brunson doing the same thing to leave the ground off one leg.
He's just doing it while also gaining ground by changing his direction on his legal pivot foot.
