After such mid-game news due to an injury scare, it was a waiting game for the bad news to drop on both players. And such news did come just one day later. According to Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press , the Tigers have placed Mize on the 15-day injured list, and to fill his roster spot, they're calling up lefty reliever Emmanuel De Jesus.

"To replace Mize, the Tigers recalled left-handed reliever Emmanuel De Jesus from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, April 29. " This is some massively unfortunate news for the Tigers, a team that has already dealt with a few injuries to their rotation for this season.

Justin Verlander is already on the injured list, and coming into the year, Jackson Jobe, Troy Melton, and Reese Olson were all going to miss a lot of time.
