AEW boss Tony Khan is making plans to carve out a piece of the market in some of WWE’s favorite destinations in Europe. The growth AEW has had since it was founded in 2019 has been impressive. Yet one of the standout parts of their success is the strong fanbase they have quickly developed in England.
While the company is only in the early part of its seventh year, they have the sort of support where it can sell tens of thousands of tickets to its yearly events in Wembley Stadium. Smartly, CEO Tony Khan understands that it isn’t just the United Kingdom that has a devoted fanbase. WWE has made big money for decades by doing tours around Europe, and expanded on that with more televised events around the continent.
Well, the AEW boss wants in on that action, too. When asked by the Battleground Podcast this week about new destinations for AEW, Khan revealed that France, Italy, and Germany are on his wishlist for European cities. He also mentioned his desire to expand further into Mexico with a potential show in Guadalajara.

Originally, he inked a one-year pact with the promotion, but he was so impressive during that first year that Khan locked him into a new multi-year deal last month.
