Ada rolls to big Senior Night win over McLoud

All six Ada seniors contributed to a 17-0 victory over McLoud on Senior Night Monday in a final tune-up for the playoffs at Cougar Field. Coach Shane Coker’s club improved to 17-12 and will carry a four-game winning streak into the Class 4A Regional Tournament, which begins today back at Cougar Field. Ada will meet Idabel at 11 a.

m. to kick the tournament off, and Vinita will face Inola at 1:30 p. m.

Ada 17, McLoud 0 Ada wasted no time taking control, erupting for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning before adding seven more in the third to help end the game early. The six Cougar seniors, who were honored after the victory, all played a role in the offensive outburst. Braden McGilbray finished 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Brock Boyles went 1-for-3 and scored twice. Kyler Gaddis was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored. Eli Justus walked, drove in a run and scored twice.

Collin Christian reached base three times, going 1-for-1 with two walks, two RBIs and three runs scored, while Chalin Robertson went 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs and one run scored. McGilbray, Justus and Boyles were all hit by pitches, while Christian, Justus and Gaddis each stole a base. Ada used four pitchers in the contest — Robertson, Boyles, Rhett Klaus and McGilbray — and the group combined for six strikeouts, no walks and just three hits allowed in the four-inning shutout.
