The Eagles are bringing in Luke Akers, son of franchise legend David Akers, for the rookie minicamp as the kicker/punter looks to make his mark in the NFL. A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, David Akers played 16 NFL seasons, primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles . He began his career in 1998 with the Washington Redskins .
After departing the NFC East rivals, Akers joined the Eagles and spent 12 years in Philadelphia before stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions , before retiring in 2013.
