Chargers rank 12th in new post-draft power rankings

The Chargers drop one spot in NFL.com’s new post-draft power rankings.

(Photo by Justin Ford/Getty Images) | Getty Images While none of the words thrown into power rankings at this point in the offseason truly matter until the pads come on and we start to really see how each team has improved from their offseason moves, it’s still a tried-and-true (and enjoyable! ) method to forecast the season and try to stack all 32 teams up based on the most recent massive event (free agency, draft, etc.

). In a new set of power rankingds from NFL. com’s Eric Edholm, the Chargers found themselves losing a smidge of ground from his previous power rankings following the meat of free agency.

On Wednesday, Edholm ranked the Chargers 13th, one spot down from 12 where they landed in the previous edition. The drop down stems directly from the Kansas City Chiefs somehow vaulting six whole spots from from 14 all the way to eight. Edholm notes that he’s taking into consideration that Mahomes will be returning from his torn ACL and he’s projecting these rankings with the idea that all teams are at 100 percent (for the most part).

Still, that irks me and I’d like to see the Chiefs prove it before getting back into the good graces of the NFL hierarchy. But I digress. Here’s what Edholm had to say about the Chargers’ ranking: “ The Chargers are determined not to allow the offensive line to sink them again.
