Now that the 2026 NFL Draft has concluded, the next step for NFL teams is to start evaluating their new rosters on the field. On Wednesday, the NFL announced official offseason workout dates for the New Orleans Saints and most other teams. Here is the latest information surrounding the Saints and their summer plans at Metairie: May 8 and 9: Rookie minicamp May 27 and 28: Voluntary organized team activities June 1, June 3 and 4: Voluntary OTAs June 8, June 10 and 11: Voluntary OTAs June 16 and 17: Mandatory minicamp Rookie minicamp will be the primary opportunity for camp invites, both rookies and veterans, to try and impress enough to get a contract for training camp.
It will also be the first opportunity that New Orleans coaches get to see their draft choices and undrafted rookie signings on the field. While the three sessions of OTA programs are technically optional, most players on the roster will typically attend. Mandatory minicamp will officially be the last get together of the offseason program, with a break of a little over a month to follow before the beginning of training camp.
New Orleans is entering their second season under head coach Kellen Moore and staff. The Saints finished 6-11 in 2025, but finished the year with a flourish. That excitement has carried over into this offseason behind second-year quarterback Tyler Shough and a strong 2025 draft class, free agent additions like Travis Etienne and David Edwards, and the incoming 2026 draft class.
