Browns lose veteran defensive tackle to Giants after three seasons
After three seasons with the Browns, veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris is on to his fifth team
One of the more fun members of the Cleveland Browns over the past three seasons has moved on to greener pastures. Veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris has signed with the New York Giants after providing leadership and mentorship to a young room in Cleveland since 2023. In those three years, Harris racked up four sacks and 18 tackles for loss on a rotational basis for the Browns.
This is the second former Browns defensive contributor to sign elsewhere in the last two days. Now entering his 12th season in the NFL, Harris is not done yet. How the Browns' defensive tackle room now looks After using picks in the top two rounds of the NFL Draft over the past three years, the Browns will now turn to Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr.
to make a major impact in the defensive tackle room. Maliek Collins was off to a stellar season as well before his season-ending injury. If the veteran comes back full force, expect the starting lineup to feature Graham and Collins.
Other defensive tackles on the roster include Kalia Davis, Adin Huntington, and Sam Kamara. There is room for one more defensive tackle to make this roster. Perhaps that's a position the team adds a body to via the waiver wire at the end of training camp when other teams are trimming their roster down to 53 players.
