Seahawks change Rylie Mills' position for the 2026 season
The Seattle Seahawks appear to have changed Rylie Mills’ position ahead of the 2026 season. In 2025, he only played in six games, including the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl. It’ll be remembered for his dominant sack in the SBLX.
He did it primarily from the defensive tackle position, though, with just 3 of his 34 snaps coming from the defensive end spots. However, this season, the Seahawks changed his listed position on the roster to just DE after listing it as both DT/DE last year. Something to note with Rylie Mills.

However, this could also mean Mills will play more DE this season- which would line up with their draft decisions as well. They didn’t select any edge players during the draft, but did select a defensive tackle– despite that being perceived as one of the team’s least pressing needs. If they view Mills as more of an edge player, the decision to draft Minnesota DT prospect Deven Eastern makes more sense from a roster construction standpoint.
