But one of the biggest changes was the release of Nick Castellanos despite being owed $20 million for the season. Instead of keeping him on the roster, the Phillies are paying him roughly $19 million to not be on the roster. He signed with the San Diego Padres this offseason, and as ESPN's David Schoenfield highlighted, he's been one of the biggest disappointments in MLB this season, proving Dave Dobmrowski right for releasing the veteran outfielder.
