Former Nebraska Coach Admits to Having Sexual Relationship with Player, Court Documents Claim

Citing pretrial court documents, USA Today , the Associated Press , and the Daily Nebraskan reported this week that an attorney for the former player, Ashley Scoggin, alleged her former coach, Chuck Love, “for the first time admitted that he had a sexual relationship with Ashley” at a deposition on Feb. 5.
Scoggin first filed a civil lawsuit in federal court against Love and several Nebraska employees in February 2024, according to the AP . Scoggin's lawsuit reportedly came after she was dismissed from the team in 2022 — days after teammates discovered her in Love’s hotel room while on a team trip, according to the outlet. Upon being dismissed from the Nebraska team, Scoggin transferred to UNLV, where she continued her collegiate basketball career for two more seasons until she graduated in 2024.
