Goodyear reveals tire setups for NASCAR at Texas in May 2026

Goodyear is bringing a familiar tire for the NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Cup Series will use the same Goodyear tires that were used at Kansas Speedway. The Cup Series has also run this setup at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March and Darlington Raceway in the Goodyear 400.

Meanwhile, the NASCAR O'Reilly Series has a similar situation. Goodyear introduced new right-side tires in 2025, and the O'Reilly Series will use them again at Texas. Finally, the Truck Series will use the same setup, but it hasn't run these tires during the 2026 NASCAR season.

“The Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup we have selected for Texas Motor Speedway represents the next step in the consolidation of our intermediate track tire package,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear Director of Racing for the Americas. “Teams are already familiar with the combination, having run it three times this year, and we are happy with its performance at similar 1. 5-mile tracks.

” The hope is that Goodyear's tires in the Cup, O'Reilly, and Truck Series will provide reasonable tire wear. It would be amazing to see different strategies play out through the races. NASCAR is back in Texas, and hopefully, the tires perform as desired to enhance the on-track product.
