Swindon boss Holloway given two-game touchline ban
Swindon boss Ian Holloway is given a two-match touchline ban for misconduct after a red card against Colchester and will miss their final game.
Swindon manager Ian Holloway has been given a two-match touchline ban for misconduct following his red card in their defeat by Colchester United. Holloway was sent off in the 83rd minute of the 3-0 loss on 10 April for allegedly using offensive, insulting or abusive language towards the fourth official and then allegedly acted in an improper manner after being shown the red card. The ban means Holloway will not be in the dugout for Swindon's crucial final game of the season at home to play-off rivals Chesterfield on Saturday.
The Robins dropped out of League Two's top seven last weekend following a three-game winless run (two losses, one draw), with Chesterfield moving a point above them into the last play-off spot. In an interview earlier this month, Holloway said he was appealing against the red card and had been receiving support from the League Managers Association. However a Football Association statement said Holloway admitted the charges against him and a commission imposed the sanction as well as a £1,000 fine.
