Colin Cowherd says Steelers taking control in Aaron Rodgers situation
The Steelers placed a URFA tender on quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday and sports personality Colin Cowherd applauded the move.
When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers , sports personality Colin Cowher rarely has anything positive to say about the organization. Historically, he's been hyper-critical of the coaching staff, especially former head coach Mike Tomlin, but as well as how the front office has handled the quarterback position since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger. But in a rare heel turn, Cowherd offered some real positive praise to the Steelers for their latest move.
On Tuesday, the Steelers placed the rare URFA tender on Rodgers, which we've gone into obsessive detail about what they does mean now and what it could mean later for the Steelers quarterback situation. Cowherd thinks the Steelers did the perfect thing by what he called taking control of the situation. However, the reality is this move was more a show of support for Rodgers than the Steelers really want to sign him, a move to possibly lock up a compensatory pick if he doesn't, and to set something of a timetable that will never come into play.
"Essentially Pittsburgh said, 'I know you were probably at Coachella, but I'm the coach, fella. ' I want my quarterback burning man-to-man, not attending Burning Man. " @colincowherd APPLAUDS the Steelers for taking control of the Aaron Rodgers situation pic.
