Per the NFL transaction wire, five New York Giants unrestricted free agents have not been asked to re-sign.

The New York Giants will feature a plethora of new faces across the roster during the 2026 season. The Giants have not asked either Wilson or Van Roten to re-sign this offseason, which comes as no surprise. Linebackers Neville Hewitt, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, and Victor Dimukeje also appear headed elsewhere, as New York is expected to let them walk before the 2026 campaign. The morning NFL transaction wire is out and under the category of UFAs not asked to re-sign, the Giants have the following: LB Victor Dimukeje LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles LB Neville Hewitt G Greg Van Roten QB Russell Wilson โ€” Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) April 28, 2026 Wilson struggled significantly during his time with the Giants.

The former quarterback delivered a standout performance of 450 yards and three touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, but he was ultimately replaced by Jaxon Dart against the Chargers in Week 4. Van Roten proved to be an extremely reliable lineman, starting all 17 games for the Giants last season. The veteran should have no trouble finding a role with a new team this offseason, as he would make an excellent depth option elsewhere.
