First Coast lacrosse on display with a dozen players in ASUN tournaments
The First Coast will have a strong presence in the ASUN men's and women's lacrosse championships this week at Jacksonville University.
This week's ASUN men's and women's lacrosse championships at Jacksonville University's Rock Stadium will not only showcase the Dolphins teams and facilities but also the growth of lacrosse on the First Coast. Led by six area players on the JU rosters, there are 12 products of First Coast high schools playing in the tournament, for three of the four men's teams that qualified and three of the six women's teams. The list includes the last two Times-Union boys lacrosse First Coast players of the year, a three-time All First Coast girls selection and a handful of versatile multi-sport athletes.
The ASUN women's lacrosse tournament will be April 28, April 30 and May 2 at Rock Stadium and the ASUN men's tournament will be May 1 and May 3. The JU women are the second seed and will play the winner of Liberty and Kennesaw State on April 30 at 6 p. m.
; and the JU men are the No. 1 seed and will play Kennesaw State in the semifinals on May 1 at 3 p. m.
The women's championship game will be May 2 at 1 p. m. and the men's championship will be May 3 at 1 p.
