Nebraska football quarterback commit earns high praise at camp

Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor was named one of the top performers of the Rivals Nashville Elite Camp this past weekend.

A Nebraska quarterback commit is continuing to receive offseason praise. Four-star prospect Trae Taylor was named one of the top performers of the Rivals Nashville Elite Camp (subscription required) this past weekend. The Husker quarterback commit is transferring from Carmel Catholic (IL) to Millard South (NE) for the 2026 season.

In 11 games last season, Taylor threw 3,571 yards, 38 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also ran 77 times for 633 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2025, Millard South went 12-1 and won a Nebraska Class A State title for the second year in a row.

Taylor is expected to take over for starting quarterback Jett Thomalla, who is signed with Alabama . Charles Power of Rivals had nothing but praise for one of 2027's top prospects. "Trae Taylor set the pace in an extremely deep quarterback group at Rivals Nashville.

The Nebraska commit has made strides over the past year, adding size and strength to his frame. Taylor flashed a strong arm in each period and station throughout the day. " Taylor is one of eight recruits committed to the class of 2027 .
