Leipzig eye Diomande extension with key conditions set for new deal One of the breakout stars of the Bundesliga season, Yan Diomande has attracted interest from Europe’s top sides, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain said to be monitoring the winger. Nevertheless, as RB Leipzig officials have previously made clear , the club would prefer to keep the 19-year-old for at least another season. One key condition for Leipzig retaining him would be securing qualification for the Champions League.

In doing so, Die Roten Bullen wouldn't need to sell as aggressively , while Diomande would also have the opportunity to showcase his talent on Europe’s biggest stage. Sport Bild reports that under those circumstances, the winger and his representatives would be open to committing to another season at RB Leipzig, not least out of gratitude to the club for giving him a chance in the Bundesliga after arriving as a relatively unknown talent from Leganés last summer. According to the report, Leipzig would like to extend Diomande’s contract at the end of the season.

The new deal would likely run for another year – until 2031 – and include a significant salary increase as well as a release clause. However, Sport Bild also notes that if one of the world’s wealthiest clubs makes a serious move and a lucrative offer for Diomande this summer, it could be difficult for Die Roten Bullen to turn it down. A future transfer fee in excess of €100 million has previously been suggested for the highly-rated teenager.
