Things are finally starting to look right for the Toronto Blue Jays , a very exciting time for a team that can use any help it can get.
Unfortunately for Toronto, the first 30 or so games of the season have been heavily impacted by injuries, though it's important to remember that it's still very early, and this was a team that was in the World Series just a year ago. If the Blue Jays do what's needed in the remainder of the campaign and are able to get healthy, this will be a team that nobody wants to play. That includes an injury to George Springer, one of the top veterans in baseball.
While Springer might not be what he once was, he's still very respected and has proven throughout his time with the Blue Jays that he can make a difference. According to the latest, it sounds like Springer will have a real opportunity to return sometime in the near future. โSpringer, meanwhile, will gear up to run the bases and take more live batting practice Tuesday, this time against Bisons righty Pat Gallagher, seeking to do everything as normally as possible, especially his running,โ Shi Davidi of Sportsnet wrote .
The outfielder fractured his left big toe earlier in April and has yet to play since. He has taken some live at-bats and spoke about the injury, saying that he understands he needs to get through it before he heads back on the field full-time. "The whole goal is to just not (do anything differently),โ Springer explained.
