Chelsea reward players with holiday despite 1 win in 9 league games – this is why Chelsea’s players have been given a break this week, and many have taken the chance to go abroad on holiday. After beating Leeds on Sunday to break a run of five consecutive defeats, and a dismal two month run, there was only one way to react: give the players a holiday.

Because they don’t play until Monday night, the first team squad have been given until this Thursday off for a mini break, with many taking their usual trips to Dubai or back home. A group including Marc Cucurella, Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro are in Madrid where they’re watching the tennis. Holiday makes sense – if Blues make the most of break While some old school fans might prefer the idea that this group, having just got a coach sacked, might take the chance for some extra training rather than a break, that’s not how things work anymore.

It’s a chance for the group to rest their bodies ahead of the final run of games of the season, and for many of them an intense World Cup to follow. Nobody will mind if they turn up on Monday and look good against Nottingham Forest. If they look bad, however, there will be some very unhappy reactions.
