North Carolina finished 4-for-5 in those situations. Coastal Carolina reliever Daniel Parker (2-0) earned the win, working two scoreless innings and allowing one hit with two strikeouts. UNC reliever Walker McDuffie took the loss despite a strong outing.
He went 4 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. The game did not get out of hand until after he left in the sixth. Rex Watson put the Chanticleers on the board in the first inning with an RBI single up the middle.
