ELMIRA, N. Y. (WETM) – Two masterful pitching performances highlighted mid-week action in the Twin Tiers.
Schuyler Storm softball’s Paige Ells and Horseheads’ Reese O’Herron each delivered outstanding pitching performances in wins, on Tuesday. Ells guided the Storm to a 16-1 victory over Elmira Notre Dame, reaching her 400th career strikeout as a sophomore. Along with 12 strikeouts, Ells added 3 hits including a 3rd inning triple and 4th inning RBI-single.
Keira Ells and Lauren Signor also drove in runs, while Brooklynn Thompson plated a pair in the win. The Blue Raiders also picked up a dominant victory, 22-0 over Binghamton. The 5-inning rout was highlighted by a no-hitter from the freshman O’Herron, who struck out 5 Patriot batters.
