Eli Stowers’ arrival is already reshaping Eagles’ TE room
Eli Stowers addition is already sending ripple effects through the Eagles' roster.
Well, that didn't take long. The Philadelphia Eagles hadn't even fully turned the page from draft weekend before the ripple effects of adding Eli Stowers began to show. Just days after making him a second-round selection, Philadelphia made its first corresponding roster move.
Per The Athletic's Zach Berman, the decision has been made to waive Jaheim Bell. It wasn't necessarily expected, but it isn't surprising either. The Eagles waived TE Jaheim Bell, opening a spot on the 90-man roster ahead of undrafted rookie signings.
— Zach Berman (@ZBerm) April 28, 2026 As stated, moving on from Bell opens a spot on the 90-man roster. Rookie minicamp approaches. Perhaps Philadelphia will entertain the idea of making another addition.
A crowded tight end room gets some early clarity. An offseason that has already seen returning veterans, the acquisition of depth pieces, and Stowers' selection now adds another storyline, with Bell being the first domino to fall. After bouncing between rosters and struggling to carve out a consistent role at the NFL level, Bell's path to sticking in Philadelphia was already narrow.
