Diamondbacks vs Brewers live updates. Adrian Del Castillo in lineup
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers opened their three-game series on Tuesday, April 28, in Wisconsin.
MILWAUKEE — Two days after leaving the game in Mexico City with a dislocation of the joint near the top of his left finger, Adrian Del Castillo was back in the Diamondbacks lineup for the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, April 28. Del Castillo isn't catching, though, and is the designated hitter. He was trying on gloves to test his comfort level prior to Tuesday's game.
"It's just a jammed finger, honestly that's kind of what it feels like," Del Castillo said. "Not comfortable but it's still good. " The joint had to be popped back in, Del Castillo said.
The injury was the result of a foul tip. "You talk about toughness and perseverance, it's a pretty good moment," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said of Del Castillo. Perdomo still out, Gallen feeling better Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo remained out with a sprained left ankle he suffered in Mexico City last Saturday.
Lovullo said Perdomo was available off the bench, to some extent, after taking batting practice. Right-handed pitcher Zac Gallen, hit in his throwing shoulder by a comebacker last Saturday in Mexico, did some throwing on the off day Monday and is scheduled for a bullpen session on Wednesday, April 29, Lovullo said. The plan for him is to make his next scheduled start.
