‘We’ll push everything we can’ – Arsenal will keep on chasing WSL glory says Slegers Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers says that her side will continue to pursue Barclays Women’s Super League glory until it is no longer mathematically possible. The Gunners’ slim title hopes were boosted as league leaders Manchester City were defeated 3-2 by Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend. Arsenal trail Manchester City by 11 points but they do have three games in hand on The Cityzens.

When speaking to the media ahead of the midweek fixture against Leicester City, Arsenal boss Slegers said that her side will not be giving up hope on the title. “Of course, we follow the league because it’s our context,” Slegers said. “We look at what’s happening around us.

At the same time, we’re so focused on ourselves. “We know we have three games in hand. They’re all difficult, challenging games.

We have to look at what we can do. As long as it’s theoretically possible, we’ll push everything we can. Again, that starts with us and what we can do, that starts tomorrow.

” Going on to discuss Leicester City, Slegers is not entirely sure what to expect from The Foxes but she believes that her side will be raring to go. She said “We are always strong and that’s the strength of our squad; the power of our togetherness, the different qualities and the different tools that we have in the squad. “We have to start well, we have to finish well and we have to look at what Leicester are going to do.
